The more I become a "real" cook, the more a perfectly coiffed kitchen feels claustrophobic to me. I love being able to see and reach every tool I need at school and would love to replicate that in my own living space at some point. I have no clue what our home (or homes) will look like after this one, but I can't help but admire these more rustic, lived-in cooking spaces.

I love it. I seriously need to get a cast iron skillet. It's so wrong that I don't own one.
