We were also able to enjoy a sunny (but windy) day at the beach on Saturday with Chase and Meagan. There's nothing like a little Mo's, salt water taffy, walking the beach and posing with pylons. Sunday was filled with food, church, Easter baskets and naps.

I think I sense an annual tradition forming.

Friday, my brother and his girlfriend came down from Spokane. We started the day out with some lunch at McMenamins, cupcakes at St. Cupcake, shopping on 23rd and a cruise through the town where Meagan will be going to school next year (near us! yay!). It was a beautiful, warm day in Portland and I was so glad to able to be outside enjoying it!

Cookies and Cocoa | Sophie Dahl's Soul-Soothing Chicken Soup

The silver lining of being sick and drowning in melancholy is the comfort food that goes along with it.There's something very therapeutic about cooking in general, but especially brewing up some hot chocolate and spending the day smelling a stewing chicken soup. This soup is rich and decadent, not like the canned variety, complete with homemade croutons. Miss Dahl does melancholy right! :)

What do you cook/eat when you're in the throes of a plague?

Kate Spade Bag: $120 (+$10 shipping). Taylor bought this bag for me for my birthday last year. I love it, it's beautiful, but I just never wear it. It's a beautiful coral pink with a navy and white polka-dot lining. I would love to find it a good home. It's in pristine condition, inside and out. I even have the bag that it came with and the tags. The last three photos show the true color.

SOLD! Kate Spade Heels: $75 (+$5 shipping). I bought these heels this fall, thinking I would wear them this spring, but so far I haven't reached for them once. They're brand new, don't even have a scuff on the bottom. They fit me perfectly and I'm a pretty solid 8.5. So beautiful and looking for a good home!

These will be sold first come, first serve. To make an offer, please e-mail me. I will send all invoices via PayPal and ship within 2-3 days. Happy Shopping!

Sweater: J.Crew | Jeans: Seven for All Mankind | Necklace: Falling Whistles | Hat: Urban Outfitters

This is my new favorite sweater. I've worn it in the rain. I've worn it in the sun. It was less than $40 and it's one of the only gray pieces I've liked myself in. I plan to wear it in the spring (you know, once it hits RAINY Oregon) and in the summer with shorts. It'll be perfect at the lake, it works at the office and even for a delicious lunch at Red Hills Market, you know, for example. Me and my sweater, we're in love.

Feeling utterly and totally inspired by this photo. Dreaming of striped shirts, fresh lavender and beautiful sunny Saturdays spent at the Farmer's Market. All while I sit on the couch, in the dark and blow my nose. My immune system gets an F for April.

Photo from Strikes our Fancy (Matchbook Magazine).

Not going to make excuses or explanations.
Not going to try to catch up.
Trying to shed the idea that this space is a burden.
And remember that it is a blessing.
Trying to remember how to care about what I wear.
Trying to remember to put time and effort into how I look.
Spent a lot of time down in the dumps lately.
Trying to reconnect with my savior, myself and my love.
Trying to trust, trying to find joy and peace.
Currently clawing my way out of the dumps.
Decided to give this place a little spruce.
And hope to be seeing more of you soon.

Au Revoir!
