Once upon a time there was a little farm boy who had an idea. He wanted a pair of pants, a very special pair of pants, that he could wear each year on his birthday. Since his birthday was St. Patty's Day, he decided that these pants must be festive and fun so he could simultaneously celebrate his day and the day of ol' St. Pat all in one. He searched high and low, patterned and plaid, and finally found the perfect pair! Well, at least he thinks so. :)

Taylor had a great 25th birthday a couple weeks ago, in which he received an ice cream (and other frozen treats) machine, which we have thoroughly enjoyed. Happy belated Birthday love!

Happy Place.

Life has been crazy lately. I know that's all I've been saying here lately and that you've probably gotten that vibe from the lack of posts. But I just don't have a lot of extra time or energy and this blog (and reading your blogs! Sorry!) has been one of the major pieces to go. And the stuff coming out of my kitchen has been looking a whole lot better than anything coming from my closet, let me tell you. I can't remember the last time I strayed from the jeans + boots + blazer combo. BORING!

I spent last Wednesday through Sunday in Las Vegas for work, mostly working and reading in my spare time, and dreaming of cooking and food. I've developed a serious love for all things culinary and reading My Life in France by Julia Child and Lunch in Paris have only increased my desire to move to there and spend my life in a kitchen. Now I'm searching for my next food-related read. Any suggestions?

Spring Breakin.

Scenes from a fantastic spring break/Taylor (and Andrew's) Birthdays.

We (okay, I) watched a lot of cooking shows, played a lot of games, logged some serious couch time, spent an afternoon at a small town ER and ate A LOT. It was great fun, minus the ER visit.

A post on some of the tasty treats I made coming soon! As soon as I can catch my breath that is!

I snagged this shirt as soon as I saw Kendi in the pink version. I'd been jonesing after everyone's gingham print shirts this fall but never snatched one up, so I knew I had to have this. Little did I know however, just how versatile it would be. I've worn it with blue jeans, skirts, it will go perfectly with shorts and with the white jeans I've got my eye on. Heck, I think it'll even go with the white linen pants I've had on my list for the last three years. You know, if I ever decide to buy them. The best part about this shirt is...it looks BETTER wrinkled. :) Gotta love that. And I'm pretty sure this confirms that there is nothing that's not blue, white or gold on my spring shopping list.

We're headed to the beach this weekend with Taylor's family for a MUCH needed getaway, as it is his and his twin brother's 25th birthday today! Happy Birthday darling! And in case you are wondering, I got him an ice cream machine. Selfish? Perhaps. Delicious? Definitely.

Pork Affair.

I know it sounds absolutely disgusting, but Pork Pie has always been one of my very favorite meals. It's hearty, comforting, warm and delicious. I have many memories of coming home after a long day at school (and usually basketball practice) and enjoying a big slice of pork pie. It was pouring rain yesterday and all I wanted to do was come home and have a big fat slice of this pie! So, I whipped up some Martha Stewart pie crust and the filling and stuck 'er in the oven. It was just as delicious as I remembered and I can't wait to go home tonight and have leftovers!

Basically all you do is:
Brown Pork Sausage and 1/2 of an onion.
Add in 2-3 cubed Russet Potatoes, 1 tbsp. of Flour and 2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
Put one pie crust down in a pie pan and add filling.
I did a "fancy" top, but you can simply lay the other crust on top and cut out a few holes.
Bake at 425 degrees for 45 minutes.
Serve and enjoy! :)

Sweater: J.Crew | Scarf: Macy*s | Flats: Target | Jeans: 7FAM

Today marks one month's passing since my co-worker moved on and went back to school and man has it flown by. Between a bunch of big projects, events and personal happenings (ex: basketball playoffs!) I've been booked from dawn 'til dusk, and much later than that! I've fallen miserably behind on this blog, but something's gotta' take a back seat, you know! Anyway, I ordered this super light sweater a couple months ago, but since it was back ordered, it just arrived this week. I was worried it would be too thin or too wide, but I actually really love it. It's going to be so versatile in my wardrobe and carry me well into the summer with it's thin-ness. Yay! :)

What's new with you? Oh, and if you haven't already, check out the closet sale! I should be adding a few more items tonight!

Closet Sale: Accepting offers.

Well, it's that time again. Time for new clothes to make their way to my closet and for me to empty the rack of clothes that's been hanging on the "to-sell" rack for a few months. The only problem is, since we're saving up for an assortment of things (spare cash for the selling/moving process, a trip this fall and school for Taylor) I don't have any money to buy a spring wardrobe.

So...I thought a closet sale was in order. And this time, I'm letting YOU set the prices because I just want to move my merchandise! :) Just visit this Flickr set to view the items, then e-mail me (krameymartin at gmail dot com) to make an offer. I will respond with either a counter-offer or acceptance and then will send you a PayPal invoice. Shipping anywhere in the US is $5 and $10 to Canada or other countries. HAPPY SHOPPING and more items will be added tomorrow!!

In the course of 11.5 hours over the weekend, I was...

Watching one brother make it to the NCAA DIII Sweet Sixteen, and was...

Watching the other win the Washington State 2B Basketball Tournament and be named 2B Player of the Year and MVP of the tournament.

State champs and top 16 in the nation? Yeah, I'd say my brothers are studs. I never blogged before I graduated from college, so many of you may not know what a huge part of my life basketball was, but in our family, it's been a really big deal and something that means a ton to all of us. It's killed me to live far away the last seven years and miss so many of both my brother's games, tournaments, etc. I cannot describe how grateful and happy I am that I was able to be there this weekend, even for just a few hours. These two fellas are so darn special to me and it means everything when I get to support them! Congrats to both of them! :)

Do you LOVE the fact that it's still light outside at 5 p.m., or is it just me? So nice to be able to take photos, feel like I have the whole evening ahead and for whatever reason, I feel less tired in general. This outfit is a slight variation of my "uniform," bringing in a little more color, but over all, sticking with that same look. I love it. I've also been imagining the spring/summer version of my uniform, subbing in some white jeans, a navy blazer, gold flats or sandals and perhaps some striped tanks. What have you been wearing lately?

I like me.

There were times in my life when I truly wondered if I'd ever like myself. I hated my hair, or my big nose, or my blonde eyelashes. I hated my short torso, my boyish frame and my peachy skin tone. Thanks to sports, I rarely worried about my weight, but in the years after sports, I felt doughy and unattractive. But the last 3-4 months, I really have started to enjoy things about myself that I haven't felt good about in the past.

I've got a skincare routine that masks my skin's flaws and highlights it's positive qualities. I've re-fallen in love with my natural hair color as my highlights grow out. I feel good about the healthy eating and fresh, organic cooking I've been doing, which has gotten me-with little worry and effort- to the weight my body is most healthy at. I like the way my clothes fit, I like the new simplicity that purging my closet has brought and I thoroughly enjoy wearing my "uniform." I know that it won't last forever, but right now, I just like me.
