When:
August 31, 2010

What:
Earrings: Nordstrom
Cerulean Swing Jacket: Anthropologie
Sea's Epitome Shirt: Anthropologie
Roxanne Skinny Jeans: 7FAM
Wedges: Steve Madden

Where:
Work and coffee with Ms. Emily.

Why:
It's day two of my little style challenge and I've already gravitated towards my "go-to" colors- red and Tiffany Blue. I don't know whether it's the fact that I spent nine months searching for anything and everything in these shades for the wedding, or what, but I often find myself dressed head to toe in them. I think this jacket (one of my favorites) dresses up a casual tee and jeans quite nicely! What do we think?

Good morning lovelies! Today I am venturing out on a journey. A fashion journey. A month-long journey that only allowed me to select a certain amount (30 pieces*) of clothing to wear, re-wear and wear again in different and interesting ways. A month-long journey that will hopefully pad my bank account a little and teach me a little more patience and self-control.

I'm taking this journey due to the great adventure that many of my fellow bloggers have had in trying the 30-for-30 challenge, especially Ms. Kendi. She first took the challenge here, and recently finished up her second one here. I'm very excited to try this challenge and hope you'll enjoy it with me!

*Accessories (belts, jewelry, hats, etc.) not included in item count.

Here's what I'll be wearing for the next thirty days:

Independant Fashion Bloggers is an amazing online community of fashion bloggers that come from all different places, write about all different things and wear all kinds of different clothes, but all have one thing in common, a love for fashion. I've been lucky enough to be featured in this week's collection of links, but you should check out some of the other fantastic bloggers  listed below! Happy reading!

Last week, Links à la Mode fashioned a roundup of the latest fashion perspectives and trends for the anticipation of another highly anticipated Fall. With the “September” editions landing on our doorsteps and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week right around the corner, we brace our pocketbooks for the damage it is about to endure. Whether the latest developments in plus size fashion, a Brazilian blowout, or style inspirations, this week’s links act as a guide of both inspiration and aspirations to Fall fashion. Before we delve into snatching up the latest “it” items from our secret wish (lust) list, below are a few must reads from the intuitive fashion bloggers who share their insights of what to expect from fashion, head to toe.

In the coming months, I’m hoping to take Krameymartin to a new level. I’m planning new features, such as local boutique explorations, coverage of Portland fashion events (including PDX Fashion Week in October), coordination of fashion events for bloggers in the area and more! But in order to make these awesome things happen, this site needs partners and sponsors!

Want to partner up but don’t have an advertising budget? Sponsorship can mean many different things! There are so many ways to team up, as Tim Gunn would say, let’s “make it work!” Shoot me an e-mail and we'll figure it out!

Krameymartin is now accepting sponsors for September. If you are interested, or for more information, visit the Ads/Sponsorship page or e-mail me at krameymartin@gmail.com.

I realize that this is a weird thing to be obsessed with, but since the moment I saw Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2010 ads, I've been dying over the 1950's style "circle skirts," and other pieces paying homage to my favorite fashion decade.

Their 50's inspired fall line has completely taken over my fashion brain and it's all I can do not to spend hours on Etsy scouting out 50's skirts and day dresses. Which is in fact, what I was doing when I found this vintage beauty for $15. I even added my Joan Harris (Holloway) pen necklace and a brooch my Mom wore in the 80's. What do we think?

Happy Wednesday! I received two items that I ordered on pretty major sale from Urban Outfitters last night and couldn't wait to wear one of them this morning, this lovely striped top! I don't want to think about how many things with stripes I've purchased this summer, but they're just so classic and go with everything, you know? Have you fallen under the spell of stripes this season? Am I alone?

Anyway, I've only worn this skirt once before and it's just so great that I couldn't help but throw it on with my new top. A little scarf for some Parisian flavor and I'm feeling pretty good about it.:) Thoughts?

I just realized today that it's the END of August. That's depressing isn't it? I need another summer! Anyway, at least the donning of fall clothes gives me something to look forward to. This outfit is a good happy medium between summer and fall. Please ignore my wrinkly skirt and crazy hair.:)

WWNDW (What Would Nancy Drew Wear)?

If any of you are half as literary-nerd-ish as me, you remember the fictional detective-heroine Nancy Drew. I vividly recall waiting not-so-patiently for my Mom to come home from Costco trips with a coveted 6-pack of the yellow-spined books. I devoured them and she willingly supplied them for me even though I stayed up all night reading about Nancy's adventures.

I remember her trekking around with gypsies, discovering things hidden in old clocks, canoodling with her goody-two-shoes boyfriend Ned and socializing with her best gal-pals. I desperately wanted to be as smart and courageous Nancy Drew when I grew up.

Nancy Drew

Well, now that I've grown up I find myself neither as courageous nor curious as Ms. Drew, but instead day dreaming about what my favorite childhood character would have been wearing during all of those adventures I remember so well! Here's a few things that rang-Drew to me.:)

For sleuthing, Nancy is often pictured in a day dress or pencil skirt, which seems like it would be a little uncomfortable, but she is nothing if not classy. So, I put together this modern version of a plaid skirt with an Emersonmade (more on them later) cashmere sweater. Emerson just happens to be the name of the college where Nancy's boyfriend Ned attends. What a coincidence!

Sleuthing

Items:  J.Crew - Gilded plaid pencil skirt, $178, Opaque Tights, $13, Pedro Garcia 'Emelyn' Pump, $495, Women's jewelry - necklaces - Northern lights necklace - J.Crew, $100, Cloche To Me in Charcoal, $40, EM Clothing Line

Another detective work look combines this lovely A-line skirt with a printed button-up and striped cardigan. I think a modern day Drew would be a little more adventurous with her patterns than the 1950's illustrator was.:) I also added a pair of leather boots for the more "gritty" cases and a classic prepster staple, a headband.

Items: Women's sweaters - merino - Merino rayé cardigan - J.Crew, $80, Homestead Denim Skirt, $88, Romantic Nature Headbands, $18, EM Clothing Line, Urban Outfitters | Fashion Rules!

For a night out with Ned, that could easily lead to Nancy chasing down a clue, I chose this beautiful red crepe dress paired with a sleuthing must-have, the trenchcoat.

Items: Dress Shop - Wear to Work - Nordstrom, $228, Women - wool - Wool-cashmere icon trench - J.Crew, $325, BP. 'Maddie' Pump, $60, San Diego Hat Co. Beret with Bow, $34

Nancy often has to interview suspects or witnesses and I figured this sweet sweater skirt would be a perfect and comfortable look for the long hours of chit chat. A silk blouse sharpens the look, and some pretty rose earrings soften it right back up. A more romantic look for the girl-Sherlock, but I think she could pull it off!

Items: Culmination Blouse, $88, Marston Sweater Skirt, $98, All Aboard Heel | Mod Retro Vintage Heels | ModCloth.com, $200, Buttercup Posts, $18

What do we think? Worthy of a modern-day lady detective?

I think I'm going to go dig out some Nancy Drew books...

There are a million things going on in my life and in my brain right now, but until I'm ready to formulate some thoughts on them, you'll just have to wait!:) I'm keeping it casual this Monday with a relaxed yet nicely cut tee and a pair of my favorite jeans. Jeans and wedges are such a confidence inducing combo! What do we think?

Hey loves. It's Friday. Hip-hip-hooray! And it's one of my bestest best friend's birthday today. Happy Birthday Mando! And Mel from earlier this week. I love you both. And in honor of your birthdays, I got dressed!:) Just kidding. I'm really enjoying the fact that my hair is getting longer and am counting the days until it is back to where I'd like it. Oh...and here's my outfit. I'm kind of loving it's fall-ness. Thoughts?

Morning! I've been on a huge Glee kick lately, not only watching all of the first season, but listening to all the soundtracks and of course doing some serious Emma and Quinn stalking (my two favorite characters) via WWEPW and Dianna Agron's tumblr site.

Emma

So...when I got up this morning I decided to channel the first of my favorites, Emma, donning a sweater clip I scored on Etsy, a cardigan, pencil skirt and some peep toe pumps. I even tried to create an Emma-esque swoosh with my hair-do. How'd I do?
