OOTD (07.30.10) My one cent shirt.

Hey loves! I'm sneaking in one more OOTD before we leave on vacation! I stopped at Nordstrom today to get my brother's girlfriend a birthday gift, and snagged another one of the Frenchi boyfriend tees, as I have a blue one that I have worn to pieces, and when I got to the register, it rang up as $.01. ONE CENT! Apparently it was bound for the Rack because it's a different green than the rest, but personally I like it better! What do you think?

You all know that I j'adore Anthropologie with all of my wee little heart, however, when it comes to jewelry, we often don't see eye to eye. I'm not a big jewlery person as it is, I prefer to wear a fun post and maybe a ring and that's about it, but it would be nice to have the option to branch out to say...a statement necklace every now and then!

Enter Stella & Dot. I first stumbled upon this site thanks to Susan, but found it again the other day thanks to a link from another blog I subscribe to. And you know what I love most about this site? It's a perfect mix between Kate Spade and Anthropologie. Their jewlery is quirky and big, but also understated and simple. So chic, so cute and decently priced!* But you don't have to take my word for it...

 Go check them out!

Good morning folks! This might be my last OOTD for a while, since tomorrow marks the first day of a very long and very needed vacation, so I figured I'd better make it a good one! What do we think?

OOTD (07.28.10) Fey Grove.

When I began watching How I Met Your Mother sometime last year, I instantly fell in love with a lot of the items Lily wears, as I've mentioned before. The Fey Grove Dress (bottom left on Lily) was one of them. Once I saw it on her, I knew I had to have it.

The only problem...it was an older item and had long been sold out at Anthro. So, what did I do? Turned to eBay of course! I scored that puppy a couple months back, and as soon as it arrived, I knew I would want to wear it for Mandee's Rehearsal Dinner. It was perfect for the toasty summer evening, complete with my red wedges and some red lipstick, and I couldn't resist wearing it a bit more casually today. I even think it will translate pretty well into fall/winter with some black tights (dots are black not blue) and a sweater! What do we think?

OOTD (07.27.10) and Giveaway winner!

First off, I just want to say thank you SO much to everyone who entered my Very Merry Blog Birthday giveaway! I can't believe there were 137 entries and only one person gets to win, I really want to send you all something lovely, alas I cannot afford to do that, so you'll have to settle for THANKS and you guys are great! Also...now that I know how many of you there really are out there, I'm going to have higher expectations when it comes to future giveaways!:)

On to our winner....(drumroll)...let's give a big fat congrats to Loraine from Sweet Anthro Dreams! Thanks for entering Loraine, and I think as our winner, you should share with the class what you plan to buy with your gift card!

And now...for my outfit! I have debated buying this skirt since the day I tried it on. I loved the shape and both colors, but as I already have a navy skirt and this one was called "light pink," which obviously scared me away, I passed. I soon realized this was a mistake, and this skirt would really open up some possibilities in my wardrobe. I saw this one on eBay last week and snatched it up. I actually think I'll wear it most in the winter with black tights, but I had to give it a go today. It's a little short sans tights, but since it's like 900 degrees outside, I think I can get away with it.

I'm pretty sure that when you wear two items in everyday life that you also wore as a bridesmaid in someone's wedding, that wedding can be declared a success. Such is the case today. The lovely handmade flower in my hair and the dress were both pieces of my bridesmaid get-up from the lovely Mandee's wedding a couple weeks ago. I literally could not wait to get my hands on this dress! What do we think?

I'm having one of those in-between times with my hair and it's really driving me insane. I'm not sure you all needed to know that, but this is my blog, so I can say what I want, right?:) Do you ever have those times where you feel like it's all wrong? I feel like all I want to do is put it up so I don't have to think about it. I'm taking vitamins (Flinstone, naturally) and using a Keratin serum to try and make it grow faster, but in the meantime I'm just so frustrated!

Anyway, on to my outfit! I found this vest through the Anthropologie Treasurebox and boy am I glad I did! It cinches in right at my tiniest point of my waist and adds shape to whatever I'm wearing! What do we think?

Morning! I'm feeling quite peppy this morning, thanks to my new-to-me outfit!:) I scored these Juliet pumps on eBay last week and was SO EXCITED, because I really love the ones I already have to death. So comfortable and such high quality. If you can find them, BUY THEM. Except not in an 8.5 please.:) But the shoes aren't the only great part about today's outfit!

This dress has been on my list of wanted Anthro items that lives over in my sidebar and last week a lovely reader emailed me saying she had this dress and hadn't worn it! I jumped all over that and was so excited when it arrived in the mail last night! It is going to be such a great piece for all seasons! So, without further blathering, here's the look!

Bull's Eye Dress: Anthropologie via an AWESOME reader!
Earrings: FullyHooked on Etsy
Juliet Pumps: J.Crew via eBay

Sorry about the gnarly photos, but it was just too bright out this morning!

Making your wishlist work for you: Round II.

Have you entered my Very Merry Blog Birthday Contest? Do it!

Perhaps this post should be titled making MY wishlist work for ME, since the items are from my closet and wishlist, but I don't exactly have access to all your closets, so I suppose it's the best I can do! The last time I did a post like this, it seemed to not only help me decide what I really could get wear out of, but it also seemed to help all of you. So here we go, we're going to give it another try!

Wishlist + Closet 1.1Fashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

Items: La Dominante Cardigan, $98, Breeze Along Cami, $78, Farmington Heels - Anthropologie.com, $90, punchtree: some nice things ♥: Scalloped Clouds Skirt from....

This outfit, as of the sale on the 20th, now includes only one wishlist item, as the Breeze Along Cami (Size 4) has made its way to my closet, however, it's still a great example of how something can be worn two very different ways! I love the casualness of the cami with jeans and boots, but it also pairs great with a skirt and heels! And that sweater is pure heaven. Can't wait until it goes on sale!

Wishlist + ClosetFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

Items: Beda Dress, $118, BDG Waist Belt, $20, Trellis Tights - Anthropologie.com, $18, Hidden Sun Mary-Janes - Anthropologie.com, $95, Style: “500 Days of Summer” « Wit & Whistle, Shiny Squirrel : Daily Gift Guide: Lizzy Stewart,   Fabiane Blouse - Anthropologie.com

These two items, the tights and shoes, would fit so ridiculously well with my wardrobe. They would also allow me to create outfits with a real romantic, Victorian feel, as I've done with the velvet jacket, blouse and wool shorts. This look is a bit of a departure from my usual bright-colors-and-retro-silhouettes style, but I think it's still "me" enough to work. All I need now is an antique amber broach and my look will be complete! I love the feeling of capturing a look you've always admired.

Wishlist + Closet NeutralFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

Items: Stripes & Light Tee, $78, AG Oak Ex Boyfriend Crop, $176, Crystal Wave Earrings, $32, BDG Waist Belt, $20, punchtree: some nice things ♥: Scalloped Clouds Skirt from..., Cynthia Vincent for Target Shoe Collection - Hot Beauty Health, J Crew Juliet - blanched almond

I'm kind of in love with this set. Not only because all it requires is the purchase of a top and earrings, but because it's a neutral palette (a HUGE trend this spring/summer) that I can actually pull off. I've had to sit back and watch all the lovely shades of nude, peach and blush just pass on by because of my complexion, but thanks to the subdued neutrals of this top I can actually pull it off!

What do we think? What items on your wishlist do you feel you can totally incorporate into your closet?

Anthropologie Reviews.

I had a quick minute to duck into Anthro over the weekend, so I snuck in some reviews. And speaking of Anthro, have you entered my Very Merry Blog Birthday Contest? Do it!

The number one item I have on my list of things to buy for fall is a tweed skirt. When I saw this one first on Kim, I could not wait to try it on. The bird is a little funky, but the fit is so great, the leaves are so lovely and the ruffle down the side adds such great interest, this piece has crept onto my wishlist for now. Unless a cuter tweed option comes along, I'll be seriously considering this one! Not sure what the actual name is, since it hasn't quite made it to the website yet. I tried a Size 6.

My store didn't have any smalls in the Lady's Choice Cardigan (Medium) but I couldn't resist the beautiful color, so I grabbed it to try anyway. I am sure that this sweater will work great for some, but for me, even in the correct size, this one is going to have to be a pass. Though I tend to fall in love with chunky or thick knit sweaters, they often look terrible on me, as was the case here. Pass.

Success was mine when I tried on the Discovered Lace Dress (Size 4). This dress will look so ridiculously cute with black tights, I can't hardly stand it. Despite the giant wrinkle in the front, the 4 fit me perfectly and the lace insets were just gorgeous. Such a great dress, I can't stop gushing about it. To the top of the wishlist it shall go!

Despite the fact that I generally look terrible in wide-leg jeans, I continue to love them and try them on. I originally had the Pilcro Button Pocket Trousers (Size 28) on my list in the lighter color, but tried on the dark as it would probably be more versatile in my closet. While they fit like a glove and were flattering the waist and behind, my big athletic thighs just aren't having this wide-leg pants business. I could probably pull these off if I wore super high wedges, but the length wouldn't work then. Lose, lose, lose, but someone else please buy these, they are gorgeous!

I tried on another skirt that isn't on the website yet, but my camera died, so that's all the photos I have. What's catching your eye at Anthro lately? I'm dying with curiosity to see what's in the August catalog!

OOTD (07.20.10) A very merry blog birthday!

Hey all! I'm back from a fantastic weekend celebrating the wedding of one of my very best friends, and in short (at least until I have photos to show) I'll just tell you it was fan-freaking-tastic. In other news, today marks one year since I switched over from blogging at TlovesK to this little kramey-fied space here. It seems like it's been so much longer, but I am so amazed at all of the fantastic new people I've met through this site and the opportunities that have come along, such as being included in BlogHer's Style Blogger Roundup. This little corner of the internet would be nothing without you, my faithful friends and readers and for that I want to say a BIG FAT thank you.

In fact, I would like to say thank you in the form of a $25 gift card to Anthropologie, since good old Anthro is what has brought many of you my way.*

And without further ado...my outfit of the day. I was unsure if I really loved this skirt when I bought it, but the fact that I've reached for it over and over again is assuring me that I made the right choice. It's just such a great summer option! Can't you tell by my face? What do we think?

A reader emailed me a little while back, asking about my methods of closet organization. Well, let's just say this isn't my particular area of expertise. I've never been able to find the "perfect" system, but I am convinced that I will someday! In college, I had to make use of a tiny four-drawer dresser and usually one rack of hanging space, which got me used to cramped space, but also got me in the habit of only picking from a select amount of clothing- mostly what was showing. In the last two apartments and now the house that we live in, it's been the same story. While everything "fits," it's definitely not ideal for styling purposes.

This is why my sweats and workout clothes are sitting out like this in my office:

In order to make styling and planning outfits easier, I picked up this rack on wheels for $9.99 at Target. It even has a place for shoes at the bottom. It really helps a lot, I highly recommend it. Now...on to the rest of my closet.
Blouses, tops, sweaters, tanks, etc.
Skirts, pants, shorts and hoodies toward the back.
Dresses, purses, scarves, some shoes and slippers and socks. I keep hats and extra accessories in the hat boxes above. I also have my unmentionables, pajamas and jeans in the plastic containers under the dresses.
Shoes! I also have shoes tucked away on the two shelves above the tops and bottoms on the right hand side.

While I am perfectly fine making due with my closet as is, I definitely dream of someday having a space that resembles any of these:

Snazzy huh?

What do you do for closet organization? Have any of you perfected a system yet? Do tell! Submit photos and some info. about your system to my e-mail, and I'll do a feature on "best closet organization." Readers will pick a winner and the one with the most votes will get a prize. Something pretty to help fill up that closet perhaps?:)

You have until Tuesday, July 20, 9 a.m. Pacific Time!

OOTD (07.14.10) and some Anthropologie Items.

Morning! This is going to be a little bit of a chaotic post, but you guys can keep up! While I was trying on all my recent Anthro purchases last night, deciding which ones to return and which to keep, I happened upon this outfit, made up of a blouse I scored on eBay, my highly anticipated Scalloped Dots Skirt and my Field Game Cardigan that I waited for to go on sale for about three months. A hard earned outfit!:) What do we think?

Headband: Shop in Hawaii
Field Game Cardigan: Anthropologie
Fabiane Blouse: Anthropologie
Scalloped Dots Skirt: Anthropologie
Juliet Pumps: J.Crew

Though I love to spend hours and hours searching for long-lost items on eBay, sadly, it's not a fool proof system. Lucky for you my little readers, even if these pieces won't work for me, they might work for you!

Take a peek!

Progression Blouse by Odille, Size 4, $40 shipped. SOLD.
I am so so sad that this doesn't fit me because it is so fantastic in person. This is from September 2008 (check out the catalog here) and also came in red. So so cute. It has a defined waist band and a tie at the neck as well as buttons. It's a lovely silk and fits more like a 2 than a 4, as Odille size 4's usually fit perfectly. Someone needs to give this beauty a happy new home!

Fabiane Blouse by Edme & Esyllte, Size 4, $45 shipped. SOLD.
I accidentally ordered two of this blouse. One cream and one gray/lavender. This is the gray/lavender version of the blouse. It has a gorgeous keyhole in the back and a lovely ruffled bib leading to a banded bottom. Such a lovely top! This is from Spring 2008 I believe and hard to find! I'm wearing the cream version above.

Unnamed Sweater (can anyone find the name?) by Moth, Small, $30 shipped.
This little sweater is so adorable, can be worn as either a cardigan or pullover sweater with the little tie and snaps in the front. It's super cute, it just doesn't fit me quite right. It's also a bit more of a periwinkle than a royal blue bit it's a nice knit and it great shape.

Diminishing Bands Top by Velvet, Medium, $15 shipped. SOLD.
This top has been worn once, is super soft and in perfect condition. This is the only item not from eBay, I bought it on sale from Anthro.

As always, shoot me an e-mail if interested and I'll paypal you! Happy shopping!
