Shoe parade.

*We are on vacation in Montana this week, so this post comes to you from the past!:) I'll miss you all, have a great week!

Shoes. They've always been a struggle for me. Right up there with accessories. I just like clothes so much, I have a hard time spending my money on anything else. And I hate buying shoes out of pure necessity. I prefer unique shoes that add something to your outfit, rather than simply covering your feet.

I've been thoroughly enjoying (obsessing over) Seychelles lately. Their shoes are unique, comfortable, affordable and adorable! Some of my favorites:

Seychelles

Here are some of the other shoe brands I really love:

Betsey Johnson.

Poetic License

Dolce Vita

What about you? What's your favorite shoe brand?

OOTD (03.30.10) Tiffany Jungle.

I didn't have such great luck with my photos this morning, nor did I have great luck with my unlined (made by me!) skirt + tights. And of course, I can't stop saying, "My hose, are bunchin" a la Boy Meets World. You know, the one where Cory and Shaun dress up as girls? Anyway, here she be.

I'm still not sure if I totally love this top. I bought it at Anthro because it was $20, I love black and it looked so cute on so many other bloggers. It has a tendency to ride up, making the seams land in odd places, and it's really very thin. Also, I'm not sure that I love black with this bright skirt, but oh well! I'm supposed to be telling you why my outfit is awesome, not why I don't like it! At least the au natural hair 'do is working for me. I can't wait until it's longer and I can just wash and wear like this more often.

And I'm very excited to say that today is my last day of work until next Tuesday!!! We head out to Montana to visit my family tomorrow and I am so excited! Never fear, I have scheduled some posts for your entertainment.:) Ciao!

OOTD (03.29.10) I get by with a little help from my friends.

Today's outfit features a top that came out in November, priced at way too much, that I fell madly in love with. It took every ounce of my willpower to wait for the sale, and BOY was it worth it. I finally snagged this lovely blouse a couple weeks ago, almost a third of the original price and decided this morning that it would brighten up this gloomy day. Take a look!

Earrings: Target
Bangle: Macy*s
Vermillion Flurry Blouse: Anthropologie
Slacks: J.Crew
Mini-wedges: Jessica Simpson

And big thanks to my lovely co-worker J for shooting these photos this morning. I wasn't about to venture into my backyard amidst the pouring rain. She's the best.:)

OOTD (03.27.10) A lovely Saturday and some Anthropologie reviews.

Hey loves. How were your weekends?

Taylor and I had the most fabulous Saturday. It started with a coffee date with one of my favorite ladies and then we and I headed downtown to the Pearl District for "inspiration." I'm working on a couple of projects and felt like I just needed to get out in the sun and see some pretty things.

We started with a snack of "pomme frites" at the Everett Street Bistro, a place I've eyed every time I drive into the Pearl, and then continued on to Oblation. After Oblation, we hit Buffalo Exchange, which I wasn't too impressed with this time around and then crossed the street to head into Powells, the second   happiest place on earth (Disney taking first, obviously). After Powells we shot down the street to Deschutes Brewery for a tasty pretzel and some dinner and finished off our afternoon with a trip to Anthropologie, so I could do some reviews for you, my faithful followers.

So, without further ado...

I didn't see this top on the site, but it was really quite lovely on. I tried it on in Size 4, which fit everywhere except for the chest. You can't tell it's pulling since it's ruched right in that area, but it was definitely a bit snug. I wouldn't want the rest of the top to be any bigger though, so due to fit issues this top might have to be a pass for me. And I definitely am not well endowed, so this might be an issue for a lot of people.

The next item I tried was the Curated Tee (Small), which is not on the site yet in the stripe, but is available in other patterns/colors. This top was a nice surprise in that I didn't expect the shoulders to thrill me, but I didn't mind them and in fact, kind of liked them. The only issues with this top was it was a little too small and too short. I would definitely size up to a medium if I decide to add this to my wardrobe. I'm a little stripe crazy right now and I can't stop thinking that this top would look adorable with a few skirts I already have.

I snagged this lovely tweed jacket (Size 4) off the sale rack just for kicks, but it was definitely a little too tight and a little too plain for my taste. Not a big fan. And...it looks like it's all gone on the site, so I guess you don't need to worry about it! As you can see, my Curated Tee is riding up a bit...yikes!

The Wind Tossed Blooms Blouse (Size 4) jumped right out at me when I walked into the store. So much so that I was convinced it was a new item, but upon my arrival at home, I realized it's been on the site for quite some time. This sheer, greenish chiffon blouse is so gorgeous. The print is lovely, the fit is lovely and it made me feel so ready for spring! This would be so adorable with some white linen pants or even some boyfriend jeans. So feminine and ladylike. Wishlisted for sure!

I've been pining for a trench since I first tried one on at Banana Republic over Christmas. When the Two Paths Trench appeared on the website, I couldn't help but drool. I got a little nervous when it got mixed reviews from some of my favorite Anthro bloggers, but I still couldn't wait to try it on. I must say that I'm undecided on this piece. I LOVE the lining, I love the quality of the piece- it really feels like a substantial coat- and I love the tiers and buttons. But to be quite honest, I kind of felt like a pill bug in this coat. From the side, I thought the tiers looked amazing, but from the front, I felt like the added a lot of width around the bum and thigh area. I think I'll try on a 4 before making up my mind completely, as there was a good deal of wiggle room, but I'm still unsure if it's the trench I've been dying for or if I should stick with a more classic silhouette. Thoughts?

Another piece that left me quite befuzzled, was the Mermaid Lore Cardigan (Small). It looks so great on the website, and now that I look at these photos, I think it looks great in them too, but in person, it just felt a little too chunky and even a little cheap. Perhaps if it went on major sale, I'd consider snatching up this item, but with all the other cute cardis on my wishlist, this one goes back to the rack.

Speaking of cute cardis, I LOVED the Blooming Lattice Cardigan (Medium) in person. We all know I have a penchant for green, but besides the color, this piece was a real "show stopper." I LOVED the snaps instead of buttons, the collar and the chiffon petals at the neckline are really quite adorable. It's a little too short to be worn by itself, but since I'm not big on that look anyway, I would really love to add this piece to my closet come sale time. How great would this be with a cami and the Alena Skirt in cream? I can see it now...

Yet another item which is kind of "blah" on the site, but "wow" in person is the Drifing Jasmine Skirt (Size 6). Though the cut wasn't particularly flattering on me, and the chiffon didn't feel thick enough to me, this skirt could look really great with some of the bright blue cardigans Anthro has right now. Not for me, but worth a try-on people!

This combo, consisting of a dress (Size 4) that isn't on the site yet and the Roaming Frills Cardigan (Small I believe), was so adorable on the rack that I couldn't walk by without snatching it up. I should have grabbed the 6 however, as Taylor couldn't even get this dress to zip. If you look closely you can see that the waist is super tight right above the skirt line. I LOVE the print of this dress, but due to it's irregular fit (at least on me, a non-tiny waisted person) this one will definitely be a sale snatch. SUCH a gorgeous print and fabric though. Wishlist!

The final item I tried on was this lovely Leifstodder polka dot skirt (Size 6) which, if purchased, would bring my polka dotted skirt total to three. Also, sorry about the belly button shot, hehe. This skirt was very cute, although a little tight in the thighs and short. It also pulled a little up towards the zipper which is on the side. It was also marked at $198. YOWZA. We'll just see if this makes it to my wishlist.

Hope you had a fantastic day, and I'll leave you with my super dorky OOTD.

OOTD (03.26.10) Pink leopard.

I do not see myself as a "leopard print" type of girl. I'm not morally opposed or anything, it's just not really my style. I do really love the fit of this tank that I found at Forever 21, which just happens to have a leopard print on it. I always struggle how to wear this piece though, not wanting to end up looking like one of the "Real Housewives" of whichever or wherever. So, I added a coral sweater, cognac colored shoes and belt and an "LC braid" to soften the leopard.

Also, this is what your face looks like after a four-day head cold. PUFFY.

OOTD (03.25.10) Neutrals, my way.

So nudes, blushes and neutrals are all the rage this spring. There are so many lovely silk and chiffon pieces in peach, light pink and even some violet colors. Well guess which one of those colors I can wear? NONE. My skin is literally the same color as most blush/peach items and I look like I forgot to wear anything at all. So, I decided to utilize some neutral colors I CAN wear (tan and cream) in order to join in on the trend. What do we think?

Blazer: Banana Republic
Tank: Target
Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Skirt: Gap
Juliet Pumps: J.Crew

It felt so great to ditch the sweats I've been in the last day and a half and put on regular clothes this morning! Though I'm not feeling 100%, I'm back at work. Being sick is so boring and I just end up watching the most ridiculous things ever. Bad NetFlix. Anyway, Happy Thursday!

A little contest fun.

I have been under the weather for the last couple of days and completely unfit to be photographed, so I apologize for my lack of OOTD posts, but they'll just have to wait until I'm feeling and looking better. I did want to share something a little bit fun with you all, and give you the opportunity to enter...although none of you are allowed to win.:)

Piperlime is hosting a contest, and the winner gets to appear on Rachel Zoe's show on Bravo.

The contest asks for you to create three different looks for potential clients, using Polyvore and a selection of pieces Piperlime provided.

The first look is for a client's 10 year high school reunion. Here's what I came up with:

If I was going to my reunion, I would want a killer dress, but something that wasn't black. That's why I picked this gorgeous jewel toned satin dress. I'd also want fabulous shoes with some height and some simple yet eye-catching accessories. I think the black, white, gold and the orange leather clutch work great together. This is an atypical, yet stunning high school reunion look that's bound to make the boys eat their hearts out.

The next look is for a client who has a meeting with the vice president of her company during the day, and a hot date that night. Here's what I chose for her:

I built this outfit off the mustard colored blouse, which I thought would work great for an office and for a date night. I added a suit jacket and a pair of slacks for the meeting and then added a pair of dark skinny jeans for the transition to date night. A simple switch of cream suede pumps to gold sandals jazzes up the look even more. I picked jewelry that would be subtle enough for the office but unique enough for a date once the jacket was taken off.

And the third and final look was for a client headed to their best friends' wedding, who wants to look good, but not outshine the wedding party. Here's what I chose, based off my own experiences.

I always struggle with what to wear to weddings, especially those of a close friend. You want to look great, especially since the odds are you'll be seeing a lot of people you know, but you don't want to overdo it. I like to wear a simple sheath dress like this one, with a statement necklace and add a fantastic bag, some jewelry and some simple, chic sandals. Sheath dresses hit in all the right places and the simple accessories add a little shine without distracting too much from the wedding party. A gorgeous compromise.

What do you think? I should win, right? Rachel Zoe and I would get along smashingly, I'm sure of it.:)

Anthropologie Reviews.

Mondays. Ugh. I'm not sure I'll ever like them. Anyway, at least this Monday I've got some reviews for you!

We spent the weekend (which went WAY too fast) with my brother and his girlfriend, who came down on Friday night. We ate great food, shopped, saw Alice in Wonderland, snuck in the first (of MANY) viewings of New Moon on DVD, played Harry Potter Scene It and watched the first two discs of Mad Men Season 1. It was a spectacular weekend.

I had promised to introduce my brother's gf to Anthropologie, so we headed up there yesterday afternoon. Here's a few things I tried on.

First up for me was the Sweet-and-Sour Blouse (Size 4), which I honestly thought I would hate after reading another Anthro blogger's review. I also do not look great it yellow and gray. However, I was pleasantly surprised, and I think I really like this top. It's just so different, and the white and orange tie provides enough space between my face and the yellow pieces of the top, that I think it would work on me. Definitely wishlisted.

I've had my eye on the Bright Button Trousers (Size 28) since I saw them in the catalog in this shot:

And was even a little nervous that I wouldn't like the jeans on, since I'm not always successful with the wide-leg variety, but I really really loved them. They don't look that great in my photo, but they looked good in person. And SO comfortable. They ran true to size and the length was good for me, though I do have long legs, so if you don't, you might have to wear heels. Wishlisted!

This lovely tee isn't up on the site yet, but I tried it on in a Small and I really really loved it. Although I think I would definitely buy the Medium as this was a little tight in the waist and stretched in the back as you can see from this blurry shot:

I've had the Paisley Swoop Tank (Small) on my list since the day it arrived on the Web site. Trying it on was a little disappointing however. It fit just fine, and it really was a nice, thick knit, but it just wasn't all that pretty. The blue color is kind of dull and the "rope" on the neck is much more yellow than cream. I'm thinking the only way this makes it home with me is if it gets a serious price slash.

I didn't see this think, silk top on the site either, but I'm calling it "Earth to Kramey, you look terrible in gray." I really just need to learn that. Passing on this one, though it came in a lovely blue as well, this shirt was tight in all the wrong places and loose everywhere else. The fabric was super thin and created a tent like look from the side.

I think I could wear skirts every singe day. And the Seabound Skirt (Size 6) was no exception to that. I really wish I had some European vacation to wear this skirt for, it would look perfect walking the streets of Venice or some little Mediterranean village, but I suppose the halls of my office building would work just as well. This one is definitely on my wishlist! Gorgeous, quality and very comfortable.

I think the To The Sun Blouse (Small) was my biggest disappointment on this trip. I found it short, wide, sheer and quite bulbous in the sleeve department. Definitely a pass on this one.

The Hello, Good Day Dress (Small) is quite a conundrum. The t-shirt top is cut really funny, the pleating on the bottom half creates a "who"-like (like from The Grinch) type silhouette and the tie at the waist is too short to make a bow. And despite all these things, it's kind of cute. At least if you can walk around with your hands in your pockets all day. Weird, weird dress. This is a pass for me.

I had a feeling that I was going to like State Fair Dress (Size 4). And I wasn't wrong. It has a defined waist (helping out my boyish waistline), a great neckline and adorable black buttons. The only problem I had with this dress was it feels like a vintage dress. It's thin, the fabric feels kind of old and worn and the print is just a little too prairie for me. I think someone else could pull this dress off wonderfully, but it just wasn't me. Pass.

The Lean Lines Tunic (Small) was another piece I have been stalking on the Web site and was sure that I would love. And I really, really did. This piece is perfectly tailored, the fabric is beautiful and the ruffles are adorable. I tried this on in the Sky color, but I think I'll buy the Blue (with black buttons) when it goes on sale, since this piece will require leggings, and I think black buttons and black leggings would look just lovely together.

I didn't actually come home with anything, since I just scored my Vermillion Flurry Blouse on sale last Tuesday, but it was a great trip just the same. Anthro, you have my undying devotion.

Have a great Monday!

OOTD (03.19.10) Crazy hair edition.

I'm so sorry that my OOTD post is late today, but you'll have to forgive me. I woke up a wee bit (a lot a bit) late this morning and was rushing to get out of the door. This explains the um, interesting hairdo I've got going. I decided that I needed to post this outfit today in spite of my crazy hair because it was the maiden voyage of my Elbow Patch Blazer which I scored at Anthro a while back. I love it, but I've had a hard time deciding what to wear it with.

Take a look!

My little brother and his girlfriend are coming tonight for the weekend and I am SO excited! We're going to see Alice in Wonderland, eat lots of great food and enjoy this gorgeous Oregon weather!
What are you up to this weekend? Have a good one! And don't forget to check out my guide to dressing for Spring and Summer. Some gorgeous warm weather items in there!

Dressing for Spring and Summer.

Hey all! Happy Friday! I have had a blast looking around at some of the pieces my very favorite retailers are offering for spring, and since I couldn't help but think of how they all mixed and matched so nicely, I thought I might as well share some of my findings. Commence Polyvore craziness!:)

I pulled from a pool of about 50 different items featuring some of this season's most adorable trends, to create some looks that would work for spring (more layers necessary) and for summer (less layers!).

Spring:

Stripes and Anchors.

Orange Creamsicle.

Florals, my way.

Orange Delight.

Ahoy Stripes.

Summer:

Bon Voyage.

Italian Riviera.

Take me to the beach!

Aquamarine.

What do you think? Are you SO excited for warm weather dressing!?

Have a great weekend!
