July Anthropologie Reviews.

Hey loves! I made two trips to Anthropologie this week- the sign of a great week- and didn't buy anything either time, but I did get to do a healthy review session. See for yourself!

I know that I already tried on the blue version of the Secret Treasure Dress (Small), but I had to try on the green to make sure I buy the right color when it goes on sale. However, now that I've tried both colors on, I find myself a little confused as to which I like better. What do we think readers? Please keep in mind that I already have a solid green dress close to this color and a striped green dress, and I don't have any navy dresses.

Next up was the Grossgrain Peaks Dress (Size 4). I was really surprised how much I liked this dress on. It's a really great cut and I feel it will be flattering on most people. The material however, might just be the deal breaker for me. It feels like a bunch of ribbons sewn together. I don't know, it just struck me as a little odd. The colors are vibrant and lovely, I'm just not quite sure where I'd wear this. So lovely, but not for me. Pass.

The Heliconiuis Top (Small) blew my mind, and not really in a good way, I'm afraid. It was WAY too big, which was weird since it's a small and the "bib" thing in the chest area was HUGE. I mean I could have fit a whole other person in there. And honestly, it looked a bit to me like a diaper. Such a shame, as the wing-like things are really quite cute. Pass.

I tried the Secret Garden Blouse (Size 4) on for a reader, hi Brynne! And found it to be a bit roomy. As you can see, the arm holes are a bit big and though it fit in waist, it wasn't tight by any means. I probably wouldn't buy this top as it isn't really my style, but the embroidered flowers all along the bottom are really really lovely.

I had to try on the Aniseed Skirt (Size 6) which is sold out online, just to see what all the fuss is about. While I really love the pattern and the fabric, I just don't think I can pull this skirt off. I feel like this is a piece my husband would see and go, "what the heck are you wearing?" Correct me if I'm wrong Taylor. It's lovely, but just a little too funky for me I think.

I was really quite surprised that I liked the Licorice Lanes Skirt (Size 6) but I really did. It fit wonderfully, the cut was beautiful- fitted at the top and flowing out to create a perfect a-line shape and the fabric was soft and still maintained it's shape. However, I'm just not sure if I would wear this enough to justify it's purchase. I already have one bright skirt that I can really only wear with black and I feel like this would be the same story. Pass for me, but highly recommended for others!

I tried on the Lynx & Leo Dress (Size 6) just because it always catches my eye in the store. And despite it's lovely cut, texture and fabric, it was 1) too big and 2) too white. Especially since I already have two white dresses. However, my co-worker ended up buying this dress and it looks AMAZING on her. A great option, in case you missed out on the white Beda Dress. Oh and say hello to my new haircut. I'm still getting used to it as my hairstylist layered it up in the front making it feel much, much shorter. Bah! Oh well, it'll grow fast. What do you think?

I'm actually quite proud of this little outfit, made up of the La Dominante Cardigan (Small), the Horseshoe Falls Top (Small) and the Mimetic Skirt (Size 6). All the pieces fit true to size, and the cardigan and sweater will definitely be on my list to buy come sale time. I wasn't too thrilled with the top, not because it wasn't nice, it just wasn't great. I'm not a huge florals person, but I love printed cardigans and this one is the perfect compromise. I love the warm, fall-ish colors. And I think I've finally found the waist tie skirt I've been pining for. This skirt is so light and silky it hardly feels like you're wearing it and it would work great for summer or winter!

I've been waiting to try the Roaming Frills Cardigan (Small) in this color, unsure if it would work for me or not. Well, I think it works. This color, a little more orangey than red, was so bright and beautiful, I didn't want to take it off! I would definitely want a medium as this was a little snug, but it's just so bright, I love it! Definitely staying on my wishlist.

Well, that's all for now folks! What pieces were your favorites? How do we feel about the hair? And what color should I get in the Secret Treasure Dress?

LOVE the hair. i think green is a great color but i'd vote for navy. it's amazing how versatile navy is. i love pairing navy with yellow..or orange...or gray.

i actually think you pull off the aniseed skirt really well. as long as everything else is kept simple, i think it's super flattering.

I love that Grosgrain Peaks dress. Might be a good rehearsal dinner option.

I think you should get the Sweet Treasures Dress in navy since you don't have anything like it. I think it looks adorable on you. I also really like the Mimetic Skirt on you. I haven't noticed it at all in my stores but after seeing it on you, I want to try it.

Also: I meant to tell you last night that your hair was adorable! (I think maybe you had it up by the time I saw you? But still: super cute!)

You definitely look great in the Sweet Treasures dress, so I vote for the blue!

And that Roaming Frills cardi is lovely - why won't it go on sale already because I want it in more than one color!

Love the hair and ring. Is this the hair with a blowout or the keratin treatment?

I wasn't aware Anthropologie had such cute stuff. Love the striped skirt and that orange cardigan. LOVELY

Love the orange cardigan! LOVE LOVE LOVE

The aniseed skirt was just too short on me and I have some skirts that short but the way it poofed out made it feel uncomfortably short on me.

Anonymous, it's actually just a blowout. I haven't opted for the Keratin treatment as it's a little pricey for me right now.

I like the navy version of the Secret Treasures dress better. I also think the Grossgrain dress looks really pretty on you!

I'm definitely feeling the Mimetic Skirt, so versatile and I love the bow in the middle.

Do you think you could size down in the Lynx and Leo dress or was the fit just all wrong? I'm thinking of purchasing it but I don't live near a store (booo!).

Krameymartin said...

I definitely could have sized down in the Lynx and Leo dress!

The navy is pretty, but the green is stunning! I say go for the green - navy dresses are easy to find. Also, I love your hair - and mine is similarly layered, it works really well for wavy hair.

SO CUTE! I especially love the black and white skirt!

You are gorgeous!

First off, love the hair! I wish my hair looked that good after a blow-out, but it just gets really poofy and I end up having to go home and straighten it. I also wish I was brave enough to try bangs, but I'm still haunted by the bad experience I had with bangs when I was 8!

I say go for the navy Secret Treasure Dress. I thought I would prefer the green on myself and everyone else, but I'm actually liking the navy better. There's something about the navy color that's a little different than the other navy dresses I own.

I can't wait to try on the Mimetic Skirt. I've never found a waist tie skirt that works for me, so I'm hoping this is the one.

If I looked half as good as you do in green, I would wear it every single day. Wow!

I love the haircut! It looks so chic.

I say go for the navy ST dress too - you look great in green, but since you don't have a navy dress and it looks fab on you, navy's the way to go.

The Mimetic Skirt looks so simple yet fun - like it could dress up any outfit but still be comfy. I also love the Roaming Frills like you do; is it bad that I'm fantasizing about fall already?

And OMG, the Grossgrain Peaks dress - it looks fabulous. This is something I waived off b/c of the horizontal stripes, but your review has changed my mind. Despite the wonky fabric, do you think this would layer well for fall/winter with tights and a cardi? I'm thinking holiday parties here, but for warmer climes (CA).

I love that grosgrain peaks dress is beautiful on you!!! I have no idea where I would wear it either!! I do love the Aniseed skirt but think it's a little too short for me!

I vote for navy in the ST dress too! I love the violet undertones...not your typical navy dress.

I picked up the navy dress myself too! I'm having trouble figuring out what color belt/shoes to pair it with though. Anyone have ideas?

Wow...I almost missed this blog entry! How did that happen! I agree with you, the Secret Garden Blouse will be a pass for me as well. Weirdo on the arm holes I must say. I was also curious about the Heliconiuis Top so nice to see that review too. Also a pass for me now.

The La Dominante cardi was MADE FOR YOU! (Jumping up and down, clapping). Oh my...it's stunning with your hair.

Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend.
