One day an older, taller, more confident person came into her life. She encouraged the wee little thing, spent her free time including her in her life and telling her that the awkwards would not last forever. She let her follow her around and copy everything she said, wore, did. She taught the girl never to settle for less than she wanted, to not give boys the time of day if they weren't worth it and to realize that true beauty is on the inside.
This weekend that wee little thing (now not so wee) got to watch that older, taller, beautiful person marry the love of her life.
Me and Mel, the preppy-chic bride!Melody, who now lives across the country, was such an important person to me in SUCH an important time. She was my big sister. She spent so much time and energy being there for me in those pivotal early teen years and I TRULY would not be the person I am today without her.
I was so glad we were able to be there on her special day! And aside from all the mush, her wedding was freaking FANTASTIC!!!! Seriously, everything was perfect! Just look at the photos!

And they lived happily ever after!I'll post the photos from the rest of the Seattle trip tomorrow! More wedding photos here.

This is such a beautiful wedding. I love the idea of the table setups and her dress is absolutely gorgeous. And birdcage veils are my favorite.
Thanks for sharing! =D
What a great venue and overall awesome design for a wedding!
If I had been there it would also be the most aesthetically pleasing wedding I've ever been to. Absolutely beautiful! Love the apple place cards. So clever.
What a beautiful wedding!
Her dress is so pretty. It looks like a lovely affair!
The apples are just too cute!
Holy cow, beautiful! Bookmarking this in my wedding files =)
Also, why haven't you been showing up on my Reader? =( I updated when you changed blogs!
I just read this for the first time. I'm now crying in my cubicle.
Thank you for being there. You were such a special part of my life as well, I hope you knew/know how much I enjoyed every moment spent with you. One of the things I thought about during the honeymoon is just how much harder I want to work on keeping special people close - staying in touch more - writing more letters - can we do that?
I love you. Thanks for all of the sweet words about the wedding, I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Your Melody
